On January 1, 2005, the permanent coverage regime for up to 400 thousand UDIs1 per natural or legal person and per bank took effect.

As an exception, the amendments to the LIC published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on July 6, 2006, have established the possibility of paying Guaranteed Obligations (GOs) in amounts over the limit set in the LPAB, as well as obligations not considered guaranteed, in full or in part, in cases where the bank’s liquidation could entail a risk to the stability or solvency of the financial system or the functioning of the system of payments.
